Tamiya Decoration Series Baking Master Collection

I know of the Tamiya brand because of my husband who builds miniature cars and was always talking about how good their products are. Recently searching trough the web I discovered they launched a series for miniature sweets where they have all kinds of realistic fake deco sauces, frosting, toppings and even air dry clay. I was fascinated with the idea of getting my work done faster with these ready to use formulas! I wanted to buy some of these products so badly but couldn't find where to buy in the states, only amazon, who charge about $18.00 for a 20ml bottle + shipping... Seriously? The other option left was purchasing from International buyers, pay a lot for shipping, wait 4 weeks or even more without a tracking number and no guarantee that the packages won't get lost! Does this sounds familiar? Well now they are available in my shop! :)

I have used some of them and let me tell you...they are amazing!
Easy to use, It dries fast and has a beautiful glossy finished when dry. The package comes with instructions in Japanese and English with super cute illustrations. I was extremely excited when I got them!

The sauces and toppings are suitable for both air dry clay and polymer clay projects. For polymer clay users - your item has to be baked before applying.

Thanks for looking!

From miniature jewelry to miniature dollhouse cuties :D

I started working with polymer clay around November 2010 making miniature food jewelry. My real passion was making miniature food but here in Puerto Rico dollhouse miniatures is something that you don't see or grow up with. I just simply didn't know there are thousands of people that love to collect the pieces that I was making. I did not know what to do with my miniature polymer clay food so I said to myself, " That's it! I can make a necklace out of these!" and so I did.

Doing research and of course looking trough Etsy I discovered the dollhouse world. All those amazing and realistic details drove me to explore this beautiful world. I started to work on a smaller scale, since my jewelry is bigger than the usual dollhouse scale, and created some delicate pieces. I even created some miniature books too!

I am an art student and when my sculpting class came to my life I was horrified. I didn't like to sculpt at all but now I like to make tiny things with my hands and finally realized they were sculptures! Now this is my passion. Hope you enjoy.

♥ Everybody loves Rainbow Cake! ♥

One day at the art store I saw this very bright and beautiful box of colors full of something called Polymer Clay. It was like a variety pack. I didn't know at that moment what polymer clay was or how to work with it, I just brought it because of the colors! When I got home I started to think; "What am I supposed to do with this?" I started to play with that thing that reminded me so much of my childhood when I had my kitchen play set, a set of plastic food and my imagination. I loved to make hotdogs with dough cut them and put them on a plate! I discovered my passion for food since I was a little girl.

Driven by that passion the first thing that came to my mind was a cupcake. My first piece was a cupcake :D (A really weird one I have to say lol) Then I started to make different kind of dishes and wala!! a rainbow cake!!! Everybody seems to be drawn to this beautiful combination of color. This lovely cake has been my best seller. I always try to vary my work. This one is a new version. The difference? Thinner layers and the frosting in between. I like this one better... what do you think? *** Want to learn how to make it? Check out my tutorial here: Rainbow Cake Tutorial

Process: Creating my own Kitchen Furniture

I just started creating some furniture for my miniature kitchen!!

My main purpose is to take pictures of my miniature food jewelry to make them look cuter than they are!! I looked for some inspiration online because I didn't have a design yet but ideas where jumping from everywhere.

I'm not used to drawing much.  All of my design I keep them in my hard drive (my brain :p) So I had an inspiration overdose.

I went to an art store and brought some balsa wood.

Went home and I just couldn't stop working!!
Measuring and cutting the pieces

 Assembling

Assembling the doors and  drawer

I'm still working in some details Ill be posting more pics when its finished!
I cant wait to start taking pictures of my pieces.
